Upper Galilee hotel comparison: what matters with children

It depends on how many children you have and how old they are. Ayala by Isrotel Collection is brand new and the only one of the three that lists a kids' club. Hagoshrim Hotel & Nature has the widest range of family rooms, up to four children plus a baby. Pastoral Hotel Kfar Blum has the lowest from-price, and almost every room type takes two adults, two children and a baby.

In the north our program takes the whole hotel. Everyone in the dining room, the synagogue and around the pool is keeping Pesach the same way, and guided day trips are included. Of the northern Israel hotels in our program, Ayala is new for 2027, while Hagoshrim and Kfar Blum are back.

Family rooms: who fits in which room?

A family of two adults, two children and a baby fits in one room at all three hotels; with three or four children, Hagoshrim has the most choice. Sizes and occupancy below are as the hotels list them. We confirm the room type per family and never promise a specific room, but early bookers choose first from every room type, from a double room to a family suite.

• Ayala by Isrotel Collection: the Iris Room, 26 m², takes 2 adults + 2 children (or 3 adults) and is itself a safe room. The Rimon Suite, 55 to 62 m², takes 2 adults + 2 children + baby and has a bathtub. The Galil Garden Room (23 m²) and Hermon Garden Room (26 m²) suit 2 adults + 1 child. • Hagoshrim Hotel & Nature: the Garden Suite, 29 m² on the ground floor, and the Premium Suites, 34 m² with two bathrooms, take 2 adults + 2 children + baby. The Grand Boutique Room and the Gallery Room on two levels, both 32 m², take 2 adults + 3 children. Pools, kids' club and green space at each hotel

Each hotel has water for children and room to run, but in different ways. At Ayala by Isrotel Collection the outdoor infinity pool looks out over the Galilee and Mount Hermon, and there is a kids' club and a full spa. The heated pool in the spa is for guests aged 18 and over, so it is a corner for parents rather than a family pool.

Hagoshrim has a heated indoor pool all year, so swimming does not depend on the weather. There is also an outdoor seasonal pool (ask us whether it is open over Pesach), a gym and sports courts, and the hotel sits among rivers and gardens.

Pastoral Hotel Kfar Blum has an Olympic pool and a toddler pool, which works well for families with older children and little ones together. Manicured lawns and olive trees surround the hotel, and there is a quiet library for readers of any age.

Only Ayala lists a kids' club. At all three, our program is an active vacation for the entire family, with excursions, classes, lectures and more. Ask us what is planned for your children's ages.

What is there for children to do around the hotels?

Nature is the main reason to bring children north: guided day trips are included in our Galilee program, and much of the green begins at the hotel gate.

Hagoshrim is surrounded by streams, waterfalls and walking trails. Banias Reserve, Shanir Reserve, Mount Hermon and Hula Lake are a short drive away, and in season the hotel offers jeep tours, quad bikes, bicycles, workshops and kayaking, with a fixed discount for hotel guests.

From Pastoral Kfar Blum you can walk to the Jordan River promenade, lined with grape vines. Kfar Blum Kayaks and Beit Hillel, with kayaking and rafting, are also within walking distance.

Ayala sits at Kibbutz Ayelet HaShachar, looking over the Galilee towards Mount Hermon. The wider region includes well-known places such as Tel Dan, Agamon HaHula in the Hula Valley and Rosh Pina. Ask us about the day-trip plan for your week.

A week away with babies, grandparents and stairs

Check the stairs first. Pastoral Hotel Kfar Blum has no elevator. At Ayala and Hagoshrim there is an elevator in part of the hotel, and some wings have none: at Ayala that includes the Ayala, Hermon and Galil rooms, the Galil Room with Terrace and the Rimon Suite; at Hagoshrim the Premium Room and both Premium Suites. Hagoshrim's Garden Suite is on the ground floor, and Kfar Blum has 6 handicapped accessible rooms. Tell us about mobility needs when you enquire, and we confirm the room per family.

With a baby, choose a room the hotel lists with space for one: the Rimon Suite at Ayala, the Garden Suite, Boutique Room, Premium Suites and Family Boutique at Hagoshrim, and almost every room at Kfar Blum. For allergies or other dietary needs, tell us when you book and we coordinate with the hotel.

A week in a Galilee hotel is a long time away from your own kitchen, and full board means you are not cooking. The food is kosher for Pesach under the Rabbanut Kiryat Shmona, with shruya (soaked matzah) and no kitniyot. There are minyanim with mechitza, the Seder is at the hotel, and a private family Seder in a private hall can be booked for an additional charge. Meira and her team are on site all week. You do not have to stay the whole week. Book the full week or half the week, and other partial stays are possible according to availability. When to book a northern hotel for Pesach 2027

Book as early as you can, especially if you need a family suite. Passover programs typically fill 6 to 8 months in advance. Early bookers choose first from every room type, and places for a private family Seder are limited. Hagoshrim offers a discount for early booking and for returning guests.
