Meira Goren Boutique Family TravelUpdated 6 min read

Searching for kosher hotels Tel Aviv for Pesach 2027 (21 to 28 April)? We offer two by the sea: the Carlton Tel Aviv on the seafront and The Ritz-Carlton, Herzliya on the marina. Both are kosher for Pesach under the local Rabbanut, no kitniyot, with minyanim and mechitza. The Ritz-Carlton starts from ₪4,670 per couple per night, full board.

This guide is for parents and grandparents who want Pesach near the sea, near the city, or near family who live in the centre of Israel. We compare our two coastal hotels with each other and with our three hotels in the Galilee: kashrut, rooms and suites, pools in April, prices and what Chol HaMoed looks like by the coast. For the full picture of all five hotels, dates and options, see our Pesach 2027 program.

Kosher hotels Tel Aviv and Herzliya: Carlton or Ritz-Carlton?

The short answer: the Carlton Tel Aviv is the city choice and The Ritz-Carlton, Herzliya is the marina choice. The Carlton Tel Aviv stands right on the seafront, where the city meets the sea. It is a 5 star hotel owned by three Jewish families and run with the feel of a boutique hotel. It has 268 rooms and suites, a spa overlooking the Mediterranean, a gym, a breakfast restaurant and two chef restaurants.

The Ritz-Carlton, Herzliya is new to our program in 2027. It sits on the Herzliya Marina, one of Israel's most exclusive waterfront addresses, and has 197 rooms and suites. Our newsletter describes it with marina views, butler service, a spa and chef restaurants. It suits families who want the coast at a calmer pace than central Tel Aviv.

Both hotels have a synagogue and an elevator, and Meira and her team are on site all week. One guest, Ora, wrote after her stay: "Thanks so much for helping with our trip! The Carlton was lovely and we all enjoyed."

Is the food kosher for Pesach at the Carlton and the Ritz-Carlton?

Yes. Both hotels are kosher for Pesach under the local Rabbanut, with no kitniyot. At the Carlton Tel Aviv the supervision is the Tel Aviv Rabbinate; at The Ritz-Carlton, Herzliya it is the Herzliya Rabbanut.

Two terms are worth knowing. Shruya means matzah may come into contact with liquid, so soaked matzah dishes are served; some families know this as gebrochts. Kitniyot are legumes, rice, corn and similar foods that Ashkenazi custom avoids on Pesach. The kitchens leave them out entirely.

Minyanim with a mechitza run in both hotels. The group's mashgichim and rabbis are happy to answer any question, and you can read the kashrut per hotel on our page about what the Pesach price includes. Allergies, gluten-free or other needs: tell us when you book and we coordinate with the hotel.

Which rooms and suites suit families by the sea?

For larger families, the Ritz-Carlton offers the most space per suite, while the Carlton lets you combine rooms into a family unit. At the Carlton, most room types take up to 3 guests and can be booked as a family unit, from a city view to a full sea view. Its One Bedroom Executive Suite is 58 m² for up to 2 guests, and the Two Bedroom Suite is 84 m² for up to 4, facing the sea.

At the Ritz-Carlton, even the Superior Queen is 50 m². Some of the options families ask about:

  • Superior Twin, 40 m², up to 2 guests, with a connecting door
  • Deluxe Sea View Twin, 60 m², up to 3 guests, with a connecting door
  • Family Suite, 75 m², up to 4 guests, partial sea view
  • 2 Bedroom Mediterranean Suite, 100 m², up to 6 guests, sea view
  • 2 Bedroom Penthouse Suite, 110 m², up to 6 guests

Can you swim at the coastal hotels over Pesach?

Possibly, but plan for the view rather than the swim. The Carlton's pool is on the 15th floor and opens from spring. The Ritz-Carlton has a rooftop pool with a children's pool. April weather on the coast changes from year to year, so we never promise swimming weather. Ask us what will be open for your dates.

The sea itself is the bigger draw: the Carlton is right on the seafront, and a walk along the water is easy in any weather. Both hotels have a spa for the adults. If an indoor pool matters a lot to your children, note that Hagoshrim in the Galilee lists a heated indoor pool all year.

What do families do on Chol HaMoed by the coast?

By the coast, the city and the sea become your program. Chol HaMoed is the intermediate days of the festival, between the first and last days of Yom Tov, when families travel and go out. In the Galilee, guided day trips are part of our program. By the coast, ask us what is planned for Chol HaMoed 2027; the city and the sea are right on your doorstep.

Well-known places families enjoy near the two hotels include:

  • The Tel Aviv promenade along the sea
  • Old Jaffa and its old port
  • The Tel Aviv Port and Yarkon Park
  • The Herzliya Marina itself
  • Apollonia National Park above the sea in Herzliya
  • A day with grandparents, cousins or friends who live in the centre of Israel
  • Jerusalem as a day out, if your family wishes

Coast or Galilee: which Pesach hotel suits your family?

Choose the coast if you want the sea, the city, elevators, or family nearby. Choose the Galilee if you want nature, quiet and guided trips. In the Galilee the program takes the whole hotel and guided day trips are included. Pastoral Kfar Blum starts from ₪3,820 per couple per night, Hagoshrim from ₪4,020 with a discount for early booking and returning guests, and the new Ayala by Isrotel Collection from ₪4,680, all full board including VAT.

Whichever you choose, two things are worth knowing. Private halls can be booked for a private family Seder at an additional charge; places are limited, and booking early secures one. Early bookers also choose first from every room type. Rates exclude tips, and a half week or partial stay is possible according to availability. Tell us who is coming on our trip form and we confirm the options per family.
